Our story
Chocolala Artisanal Chocolate Factory S.R.L. is a women-led company from the Las Lajas community, in the municipality of Altamira, Puerto Plata province, Dominican Republic. It was born with the vision of creating economic opportunities for rural women through the transformation of cacao into value-added products. Over the years, it consolidated itself as a formal company that combines artisanal production of cacao derivatives with community tourism experiences. Our visitors can learn about the complete cacao process — from cultivation on the farm to the crafting of artisanal chocolate — participating in authentic experiences that connect agriculture, culture, and community.
